Ellen is the co-founder and editor of Ayurveda Yoga Life, where she brings together her love for yoga, Ayurveda, and natural living. A certified Ayurvedic Lifestyle and Nutrition Coach, trained under Dr. Deepika Rodrigo at The Ayurveda Institute UK, she’s passionate about helping others reconnect with their bodies and restore balance through ancient wisdom adapted for modern life.
A true Vata-Pitta by nature, Ellen is adventurous, curious, and full of creative energy – rarely sitting still for long. She’s also an overthinker and a lover of spicy, sour foods (even though she knows they’re not ideal for her dosha type).
For seven years, Ellen struggled with long term health issues: over 16 food intolerances, digestive pain, bloating, constipation, migraines, jaw tension, back pain, and irregular cycles. After years of frustration, she decided to take her healing into her own hands, diving into holistic health and learning how the body, mind, and nervous system work together.
After leaving her career in digital publishing, Ellen spent three months backpacking across India, deepening her study of Ayurveda and yoga at ashrams including Sivananda Dhanwantari Ashram in Kerala, Isha, Sadhguru’s Ashram in Coimbatore, Aurovalley Ashram in Rishidwar, and Parmarth Niketan in Rishikesh. When she returned, she continued her studies and became certified as an Ayurvedic Lifestyle and Nutrition Coach.
Ellen’s greatest passion lies in Ayurvedic nutrition – creating balanced, dosha-aligned recipes that bring harmony to the body and mind. Today, she shares her knowledge through one-to-one coaching, her Ayurveda Life community, workshops, speaking events, brand collaborations, and her Instagram @ellenelemental
